Say what you need to say

I love how much more Lilly is talking. She repeats so many words (none of them naughty, I'm a good dad). She still does baby mumbles. You know, when they talk and talk and talk and cannot understand a single word . Its pretty funny but I'd do just about anything to understand what it is she is saying. From the look on my daughter's face, its pretty important. Then there are times she just walks up to me and does it. When she does thus, she has a scowl on her little face. I feel like I've wronged her. After she stops talking, she gives this huge belly laugh..almost evil.

She does it a lot. I'm scared. I fear she is plotting to kill me in my sleep. Needless to say,I no longer tell my little girl no. As soon as she is able to use complete sentences,I will be back in charge...maybe.
Tip of the day: sleep with one eye open!

Toothless Aggression

My little girl is growing up. After 18 months, she is finally cutting her teeth. She can eat more foods, harder ones anyway since she gum chewed everything from chicken nuggets to lettuce. Impressive,I know.
However, along with the long awaited dental digits has come her age of rage. Commonly referred to as the terrible twos. A time when no means yes and a tantrum in the store resembles a freshly caught fish floundering in your boat. Hitting and biting also enters the home. For the most part, Lilly is pretty good. But she still has her Hyde moments. Our pediatrician won't subscribe anti psychotics...yet.

It's tough to see your sweet innocent baby transform into the Incredible Hulk, and rampage through Walmart, when you look your very best, screaming "I want!" Instead of "Hulk Smash" but it's the same thing. Patience is key. I realize she all developing and growing and coming into herself. It's a daily thing. It's just as hard for her. It has to be because she is the one shedding the tears.

Tip of the day: never say "no" unless you want it to become their favorite response to you.

Laugh out loud

Nothing is more infectious than a child's laughter. Except for swine flu.
Lilly loves to laugh. Especially after my jokes when mom doesn't laugh. The best part, she laughs at the perfect time as if she understand!

Her new habit that cracks me up. She will just start to laugh for no reason. Just bust out with the cutest belly laugh. If you see it, you can't help but laugh. The more we laugh, the longer she does it. Its so cute.

My only concern is when she does it. Sometimes she does it at bed time...when she is all alone with her dolls. She will say something that I don't understand. Then laughs..like she said something hilarious. Or she is plotting against us. That's my theory anyway.

Keep laughing baby girl. Life is to short not to lol
